Inventiveness, a systematic mind and a fair portion of
persistency.
LLENTAB - short for Leif Lindblad Entreprenad AB or Leif
Lindblad Construction AB - is a family business with roots
back to 1972. That is the year Leif Lindblad lost his job but
solved the situation by setting up his own business.
Every problem has a solution and the best solution comes from
own ideas and persistent work. That is how it worked back then, and
that is how it works today as his sons Stefan and Fredrik carry
on.
Leif Lindblad is more than an entrepreneur, he also likes to
invent things and try new ideas.
Qualities that, together with mere chance, would lead him to the
construction of steel buildings and a mission to build them as
efficient as possible.
It all began in the late 70s when Leif helped to build a
warehouse in the neighbouring village Hovenäset. The warehouse
stored shrimp's shells for salmon breeding. As the salmons later
suffered from disease, the shrimps moved out, Leif took over and
his company shifted focus to steel buildings.
Tents were the most common solution for temporary storage
problems at this time. One customer asked Leif if it wouldn't be
possible to build a steel building in the same time as a tent. And
Leif started to design new building techniques. A couple of trials
later, he found the optimal way and hold a patent for his idea. The
first LLENTAB product was an arch hall and it was made unique in
the way it was set up.

- He would build the roof straight at the ground, then he raised
it step by step while the walls were added. The method allowed for
200 square metres in four days. A level of efficiency that could
compete with the tents, says Stefan Lindblad, CEO of the LLENTAB
Group.
As the 70s shifted to the 80s, arch halls went out of fashion,
even though many tennis halls can be found up to this day. A new
type of hall with a saddle roof was developed and was launched in
1982.
Just as the original hall, the new models should be built
efficiently and the result should be an endurable hall that
wouldn't require any maintenance for many years. It's the principle
the Lindblad family has kept on developing and improved year by
year.

As a proof of the companys
efforts and uniqueness, Leif Lindblad 2007 recieved the honorable
award; Silverbalken, from The Swedish Institute of Steel
Construction, SBI.
The computerization in the
mid-80s became a milestone in their aspiration for efficiency. A
spirit of problem solving that characterizes both management and
co-workers, in combination
with a curiosity for the
latest technology, made a starting-point for the efficient system
they use today. The system has evolved gradually and all
development is made by LLENTAB self. Everybody who is involved
contributes with ideas for improvements. It has resulted in a
system that is optimized for LLENTAB's business. When the system
receives new information from the salesmen or the constructors, it
goes directly in to the manufacturing.
With all due deference to the Lindblad family, but LLENTAB is a
family business in more ways than just one.
Among the employees you find entire families. The Lundins, for
example, have worked at LLENTAB in three generations - grandfather,
father and sons. It's such stuff that gives continuity and a
long-term commitment that is reflected in the end product. No one
from the team that was hired first has left the company before
retirement age. The family atmosphere where everybody cares for
each other and contributes to improvements makes people feel at
home and stay with the company.
